Our Name

The New Testament is filled with rich metaphors describing the countercultural community of people who have been transformed by grace. One of the most frequent designations for this community is the Greek word “soma”, which simply means “body.”

Soma Church seeks to embody the person of Jesus Christ to Indianapolis, displaying the riches of God’s grace to our great city in both word and deed. We desire to be family to one another as we love, serve, forgive, engage, pray, and pursue God’s glory and our subsequent joy in a deep community of faith.

Family of Neighborhood Churches

Soma Midtown, Soma Downtown and Soma Northwest make up our current family of neighborhood churches in Indianapolis. You can read more about this family below.

Our Networks

Although we are an independent, autonomous church, we partner with three national networks for resources, coaching, accountability, and mission. These networks are the Harbor NetworkFellowship Associates, and the Summit Network.
